You should text your mom back. I don't care if she sends you 10 memes a day; you could at least give her a courtesy heart reaction. If you have a good enough relationship with your mom to where she's texting and calling you regularly, you ought to give her the time of day. I would never suggest that you must engage with wild, inappropriate texts from an estranged parent who never treated you well and won't stop harassing you. But if your last fight with your mom was when your age ended with "teen," you've got no excuse. 

Moms are some of the most attentive texters, especially to their children. If you're single, your mom is probably the primary person asking you how your day is and sending updates about hers around the clock. I wish everyone had a texter as attentive as my wonderful mother in their life.

    I just wanted to weigh in on the whole "we can't be best friends anymore" issue. I feel like I get to weigh in because my advice impacted at least half of the issues that led to this and by the way, anyone that can decide they've outgrown their "best" friend either: a) doesn't know what a best friend is or how one treats a best friend, or; b) has antisocial personality disorder and is what we commonly term a psychopath or sociopath.
